London New Years Day Parade

Where: London - starting at Piccadilly near the Ritz hotel
When: 1st January
Time: 11.45

The New Years Day Parade is an American style procession with marching bands, cheerleaders, street entertainers, vintage vehicles and clowns from several nations. Expect literally thousands of participants as they process along the two mile route from outside the Ritz Hotel, along Pall Mall and Whitehall, ending at Parliament Street around 3pm. Many London boroughs take part as well as American High Schools and community groups and organisations. It’s a real spectacular and absolutely huge!

Helpful Hints

It’s a free event but if you want a better than average view, grandstand tickets are bookable for a fee and you’ll get a good view of set-piece performances during the parade. The parade takes well over 2 hours to pass and you’ll find that it’s easier to get a good view later on when the crowd thins a little.
