Pagan Pride is an organisation run by and for pagans throughout the UK – their annual Parade was a celebration of the pagan community and all it stands for. You could expect a crowd of hundreds of pagans in fine voice, singing and shouting for all they were worth! In addition to the Parade there was a free festival to follow including performance artists, dancers, musicians,arts & crafts, stalls and of course food & drink, with an after-show party in the evening.
Helpful Hints
Participants in the Parade met an hour before it set off (10.30 for 11.30 setting off). All were welcome to take part – you could wear what you liked and be as loud as you wanted!
The 2018 Parade was the last one and there are currently no plans for a future central event.

I met up with the parade in Nottingham City Centre and walked along side as I didn’t have a clue how to get to The Arboretum. It was very loud and colourful,lots of banners and dozens of people.
the walk to the arboretum took about 20 minutes and went at quite a lick. The parade formed up outside the arboretum’s entrance tunnel and then came through to lots of cheering. A programme of events is available and everything is covered from family areas and kids activities to beer garden, dancing, talks,live music, street food and a lovely market with lots of pagan related crafts and clothes reiki and fortune telling There is even a herb garden tour.
I had a great time and spent lots of money ate some fab food and everyone was helpful and friendly I would definitely go again.
I used phoenix park n ride and took the tram into town. the tram stops at the arboretum
so that was all very easy.
Very suitable for people of all ages and dogs too. And my favorite slogan of the day was “putting the coven back into Coventry”

Will there be a Nottingham Pagan Pride in August of 2021?

Sadly Pagan Pride is no more- you must have missed the part of the article that says “The 2018 Parade was the last one and there are currently no plans for a future central event”. You can read about all the reasons for that at https://www.facebook.com/PaganPrideUK/. When the when/where/time boxes in calendar customs entries say “Formerly…” at the start, and the articles are written in past tense, it means that the event no longer takes place – they’re on the site so that readers can still see what used to happen, and follow any links thy may find of interest. Also, I’d be cautious about making definite arrangements just yet to visit the UK – at the moment all public gatherings are forbidden, and it’s only if the vaccination programme continues to go well and covid rates keep dropping that events will be allowed to go ahead; that will provisionally change on June 21st but isn’t yet certain.
