The Lane Setting is the annual lease by auction of grazing land and verges around the villages of Ratcliffe Culey and Witherley in Leicestershire, and it’s taken place ever since the 1786 Enclosure Act. As well as the auction, there is traditional singing to follow , morris dancing and the provision of a very popular free buffet at the Gate Inn.
In 2017 it’s on Thursday April 20th.
