Only one tulip show remains in the UK calendar, and that’s the annual event staged by the Wakefield and North of England Tulip Society; the Society dates from the 1830s and is one of the longest established associations of its kind in the country. Focusing on Old English Tulips, also known as Florists Tulips, their annual show is open to the public every May, and the group also support other floral events. After the private judging session, public viewing begins at 2.30 with the presentation of prizes at 3.30.
