|Where:||Waldron, Sussex at the Star Inn|
|When:||Saturday nearest 6th January (usually)|
Local sides East Hoathly Morris and Winter Solstice Morris & Mummers organise a traditional wassailing event each January in Sussex. Wassailing is the winter custom of encouraging trees to produce a good crop in the forthcoming year (see article on Wassailing for more info) and is often held in January, in this case on the Saturday nearest to Twelfth Night (or occasionally the week following!). Expect plenty of noise, dancing, mumming and cider.
In 2017 it was on Saturday 14th January (not the Saturday nearest 6th this year but the one after) and it was the 26th Wassail! 2018 date is yet to be announced.
