When: | First Saturday in April |
Time: | Hull 12 noon, London 2pm |
As the name implies, International Pillow Fight Day is an annual worldwide event, with regular participation at locations in many different countries. Bolsters, pillows and cushions are used to softly bludgeon opponents whilst feathers fly in clouds around them. Inspired originally by the film “Fight Club” in the earliest years of the twenty-first century, such events are now a custom in their own right, eagerly anticipated by regular participants. Held on the first Saturday in April, locations around the UK include London’s Allen Gardens and Hull city centre. The wearing of pyjamas or other night attire is allowed but not compulsory, and all ages can take part free of charge; all you need is a weapon, so if your soft furnishings are looking a bit tired, this could be the ideal time to find a new use for them!
Helpful Hints
In 2025 it should be on Saturday April 5th (details yet to be confirmed).
Top tip: don’t wear a wool coat in a pillow fight…it takes ages to get the feathers off.
Only feather free pillows are allowed at the London event.
