Where: | Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys from the Town Square |
When: | A Saturday in mid-November |
Time: | 9 am - 1pm |
This event comes from the same stable as bog-snorkelling, being introduced to the calendar by Gordon Green, inventor of new and unusual activities. The Real Ale Wobble is associated with the concurrent Mid-Wales Beer Festival and is basically a very arduous pub-crawl on foot or by bicycle over about 30 miles. The courses alter annually but are always through beautiful steep countryside with stops for beer consumption – it’s more of an endurance course than a competition.
Helpful Hints
In 2024 it should be on Saturday November 16th. Follow the website link below for full details. For those who prefer to keep tow feet firmly on the ground the Real Ale Ramble takes place the following weekend on 23rd & 24th November in 2024.
The main event is on Saturday though a second go is usually available on the Sunday.
Anyone wishing to participate should be aware that it’s a serious bike-ride and should be suitably attired and equipped.
