Wookey Hole was the venue for the Mince Pie Eating Championships, held in late October or early November. The prize money of £1000 seemed generous but bear in mind that comptitors had to eat about 40 mince pies in 10 minutes to stand a chance of winning. Not for those with dainty appetites!
Helpful Hints
After running annually for years, the contest took a break from 2010 and as yet there are no plans for the future.
