Pershore has long been famed for its plum harvest, with orchards dating back to medieval times, and each August Bank Holiday this heritage is celebrated in the town. Events take place over the whole weekend with the main festivities on Bank Holiday Monday. The Abbey Bells are rung to welcome visitors at 9.30am with the Plum Procession at 10 and the official opening to follow at the balcony of Whistlers on Broad Street. Events take place all day round town and include sales stalls, a farmers market at Broad Street,childrens activities, a funfair at Kings George’s Field,plum-themed entertainment,music, boat trips and more.
Helpful Hints
Wear purple! There’s Park-and-ride Park-and-stride – follow the signs (the carpark near the Abbey is closed off for the event). Pershore Sausages are recommended and there is a huge variety of local produce on sale including yellow Peshore Plums.
In 2025 it should be on Monday August 25th with further events over the weekend Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th- check the website below for details.
