Shenington is known for its annual grass-strewing in church; for three weekends beginning on Whit Sunday, fresh grass is spread on the church floor. This is a related custom to rushbearing and rush-strewing, when the earth floors in church were covered with greenery to keep them fresh (see separate articles).

In 2025 Whit Sunday falls on 8th June.
The Evensong Service is at 6pm. For access to the church at other times check first before travelling.
