Dinas Bran is hill and castle at Llangollen and each Easter Sunday a procession climbed to the summit to greet the arrival of the sun – it supposedly dances as it rises, in honour of the resurrection of Jesus. This custom appears to have disappeared some time ago, though there are references in a few books.
Helpful Hints
Having contacted both the local clergy and tourist office, neither of whom knew of it, I have concluded that the custom has died out.
However, you can still visit Dinas Bran -the climb is very steep!
