There are now many imitators countrywide but this Scarecrow Festival has to be one of the biggest and best. Started in 1994 as a charity fundraising event, it still raises money for the local school and church. A Scarecrow Trail leaflet is available to guide you round the village so you don’t miss anything out – expect dozens of models in gardens, on rooves, looking out of windows…everywhere.
Helpful Hints
Easy to negotiate paths around the village and parking well signposted on the edge (don’t try to park in the centre or you’ll spoil the view).
In 2025 it should start on Saturday August 9th and run until Sunday 17th.

2012 sees a brilliant display of scarecrows round the village. Check our facebook page for regular updates through festival week.
While the main event has been cancelled, we’ve been hard at work creating a virtual festival for people to enjoy instead.
Going live this Saturday, as the original festival would have, it’ll have plenty to keep kids and adults occupied. Just have a look at https://kettlewellscarecrows.uk
We hope you enjoy it!
Many thanks Melanie!
I’ve added the link under “Helpful Hints” to make it easy for readers to find it. Hope it goes well!
