Lammas is celebrated on August 1st and is a Christian celebration of the corn harvest meaning “loaf-mass”. Some churches still feature loaves in their services on this day and in recent years there have been articles in the press promoting the more secular activity of bread-making, which seems to be growing in popularity.

followed by a Eucharist in Southwark Cathedral 12.45pm.
