Where: | London at Battersea Park |
When: | 1st Saturday (or 2nd) in December |
Time: | From 9.30 am |
As the name implies, this is a fun-run for people in Santa costumes, held annually in early December. There are other Santa Runs at venues around the country but this one is the original event (or so I’ve been told!).It takes place in Battersea Park and raises funds for Disability Snowsport, a charity facilitating participation in winter sports for the less able. Expect around 2000 runners, including the occasional elf, who race around the 6 kilometre course (that’s twice round the park); all who complete the course receive a medal and winners get a prize. Santa always wins the race….
Helpful Hints
It starts near the bandstand, with a warm-up just before the race. As there are so many participants it’s very easy to get a good view.
Children may take part as long as accompanied by an adult runner. All are welcome to watch for free but entrants must pay £20 including the suit!
In 2024 it should be on Saturday December 7th .
