Trooping the Colour takes place in June each year to mark the reigning monarch’s Official Birthday. It’s one of the great spectacles that overseas tourists love to see! His Majesty inspects his troops, who parade in formation, and he takes their salute from horseback or from a carriage. Around 1500 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians are on display, followed by a fly-past by the RAF and a gun salute.
Helpful Hints
Expect big crowds! Tickets must be applied for in advance for entry to Horseguards (see website below)- but the processions may also be viewed from The Mall (without tickets).
In 2025 it should be on Saturday 14th June.
