Pershore has long been famed for its plum harvest, with orchards dating back to medieval times, and each August Bank Holiday this heritage is celebrated in the town. Events take place over the whole weekend with the main festivities on Bank Holiday Monday. The Abbey Bells are rung to welcome visitors at 9.30am with the Plum Procession at 10 and the official opening to follow. Events take place all day round town and include sales stalls, a farmers market at Broad Street,childrens activities, a funfair at Kings George’s Field,plum-themed entertainment,music, boat trips and more.
In 2014 it will be on Monday August 25th.
