Sherwood Forest Robin Hood Festival

Where: Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre.
When: Mid August
Time: From 11 am each day

The ever popular outlaw and his merry men are celebrated each August at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre near Edwinstowe. It’s a relatively modern event, but has been well established for over quarter of a century and is aimed at families (of all ages!). Expect drama, jesters, juggling, jousting, falconry, living history and story telling, with an archery competition for the famous Silver Arrow on the Sunday.

Helpful Hints

It takes place over several days during August . In 2017 it runs from Monday 31st July to Sunday 6th August – please note that there will be no jousting in 2017 owing to building works at the site.

Parking costs £5 but entry to the festival is free and the Visitor Centre opens at 10 am. It’s a really fun event and fantastic value. We stayed all day in 2012!
