In September and October each year, a competition is held in Blackpool to determine the World Fireworks Champion. Three nations take part, each performing a separate display, and votes are taken before the announcement of the winner. The event also coincides with the illuminations (see separate article) and the fireworks can be seen all along the seafront.
Helpful Hints
In 2026 the displays should be held on Saturdays 12th & 26th September and Saturday 10th October.
Performances are subject to weather conditions being suitable so check the event website for up-to-date confirmation. It’s all free of charge. Best views are from the Promenade near the Tower.
